How do I donate my Securities/Mutual Funds?

To donate securities please click here

All information pertaining to the securities donation needs to be entered online first. This information includes the name of the Security/ Mutual Fund, Security Amount*, Financial Advisor and Donor Information. Please select the charity(ies) that you wish to donate the securities to, and the quantity of shares that will be disbursed to each charity.

Once the Letter of Direction (LOD) is completed, please print out the form and submit it to your financial advisor. The financial advisor will gather all required documentation to sell the pledge, and send the required documents to Ryan Son Kee (as indicated on the LOD). Ryan will sell the share(s), once it is settled, CanadaHelps will issue your tax receipt and deposit the donation into the charity’s bank account.

*If your security or mutual fund takes the form of a physical certificate, the minimum value is $2,000 since it must first be converted to a “digital format”. Most other securities and mutual funds are already in a “digital format”, and the minimum value of those donations is $200
