How do charities receive their donations?

Donations are disbursed on either a weekly or monthly basis. If the charity has registered their account with electronic fund transfers (EFT), disbursements occur on a weekly basis.

For charities that have not signed up for EFT, CanadaHelps issues a cheque on a monthly basis, which is mailed to the recipient charity’s mailing address on file with the Canada Revenue Agency.
